The Visit That Almost Wasn't

We've made a tradition of heading to the new house after school on Friday as it is the only day that there are no after school activities.  When I checked with our PM yesterday to find out if that was a good time, he said we might not be able to because they would be doing the first coat of primer.  He said he would call midday and update us.  They were able to get started on the primer a little earlier in the day than planned, so we were able to visit.

Next week is going to be a big week.  Monday will start the vinyl and tile flooring, Tuesday/Wednesday will be the stone fireplace and Thursday/Friday will be trim.  We will be making at least one extra trip next week to catch each step of the process.

Here are some pics from today's visit:

Shutters are all up.  Can't wait for porch columns
and our painted front door.

Antique Mascarello peninsula
It's hard to see in the picture, but we have an ogee edge
on all the straight runs of the counters.

I forgot to rotate the picture, but here are the doors.
Notice the one at the bottom of the stack has brushed nickel
hinges instead of oil rubbed bronze.

A sneak peak of our maple cognac cabinets

That is one long counter!
Love the archway!

It's really starting to feel like our home :)

    1. Since I knew they had just done the primer, I told the kids about a hundred times not to touch the walls :)

  5. How exciting! Your house is looking amazing! I saw your comment on my blog about the flooring we selected for our kitchen. It is Armstrong Evanston - Camel vinyl/resilient flooring. I'm still disappointed that there is so much orange in the floor when the sample didn't really show any at all, but it's a pretty minor deal -- we're in our dream home and are so happy! Yay! :)
