A Pleasant Surprise (new feature for the Verona)!

There have been changes going on lately with a lot of models.  The Verona's kitchen/family room layout changed (last year), 2 panel doors instead of the 6 panel, and one that we found when we walked through our house on Friday.  The entrance into the hall for the powder room and study has a curved arch.  I can't believe that I forgot to include that it my last post!

PM said that he mentioned it during our pre-con, but neither of us remember it :)  Ours is the first house that he's built with the arch.  Love this little detail!

We have a house!

We visited the house Friday. The house is completely framed and roofed ahead of schedule. Next week, the garage and basement floors will be prepped and poured on Tuesday, the basement will be framed on Wednesday and the mechanicals will start on Thursday.

Love, love, love the oval window
in the laundry room.  It's what sold
me on elevation B!

Can't wait to soak in the tub!  Kids are under
the mistaken impression that they will be
allowed to "swim" in there!

So glad we chose this upgrade.

PM said that mechanicals will start next Thursday and we should have our pre-drywall meeting the following Thursday.  Time is just flying!

Framing Day 4

Part of the second floor is up with windows and "spacesuit."  Pictures are from Tuesday.  We are meeting with our PM to "officially" walk through the house Friday afternoon.  Framing should be pretty much complete at that point.

We've Been Framed!

I got a call from our PM this morning.  Framing actually began yesterday afternoon and will be complete next Friday when they will begin the roof.  The roof will be finished the following Monday.   The garage and basement will be poured that Tuesday.

We visited the house tonight with the kids.  They kept walking from room to room and asking which room it was and where their bedrooms would be in relation to that room.  Here are some pics:

Now That's a Lot of Wood!

Our lumber was delivered today.  We're guessing it came on two trucks.  Framing is set to begin tomorrow.  Sump pump, garage floor drain and other groundworks were completed.  Backfilling was done on Monday.  The missing basement window has been cut.  Can't wait to get out there tomorrow evening and check on the progress!

We Have a Basement!

PM called this morning to let us know that we are missing a basement window but that they would cut it in next week when the lumber arrives. Dimple board will be done either today or tomorrow. Lumber is scheduled to arrive March 15.

DH was able to swing by on lunch and take a few pics:
